Abstract
Course offerings for the university minor in Foreign Language, specifically German and French, contain an upper-level course in history and culture. When the opportunity arises to teach this course in the targeted country, the professor must make accommodations for authentic encounters with the history and culture combined with condensed preparation and study time for students. We will present the modifications we made, which may be beneficial for others in similar situations.
