Glasses are a normal part of life for many people, but it can be strange at first. This book follows a dog named Douglas who has gotten himself into some interesting situations due to his bad sight. Eventually his owner, Nancy, has had enough, and so she takes him to the eye doctor where he does an eye test and picks out glasses, which allows him to see the wonderful world around him. With colorful, creative illustrations and Douglas’s funny mistakes, this is a cute and humorous book for young children. This book could be used at a school or library story time to entertain, perhaps boost the confidence of those wearing glasses, and to illustrate why some people really do need to wear them. RECOMMENDED. Lauren Yost, Centennial Library Independent Study Student
