Dr. Robert P. Lightner has been an Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary, Dallas, Texas since 1968. He previously taught at Baptist Bible Seminary, Johnson City, New York, now known as the Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania (1959-1961; 1964-1968). His undergraduate degree (Th.B.) was gained at Baptist Bible Seminary and his graduate work taken at Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., Th.D.). He has also earned the M.L.A. from Southern Methodist University.
As a prolific writer, Dr. Lightner has authored several volumes: Neo-liberalism; Neo-Evangelicalism; The Tongues Tide;Speaking in Tongues and Divine Healing; The Savior and The Scriptures; The Death Christ Died: A Case for Unlimited Atonement; Triumph Through Tragedy; Church Union - A Laymen's Guide; and The First Fundamental: God. He is also a frequent contributor to Christian periodicals and Sunday School literature.
For his writing and teaching ministries, Dr. Lightner has been honored with biographical listings in Who's Who in American Education, Outstanding Young Men of America, Creative and Successful Personalities of the World (American Edition 1970), Outstanding Educators of America, and Community Leaders of America.
