Professor James Bjornstad is the founder and executive director of the Institute of Contemporary Christianity in Oakland, New Jersey, an organization involved in researching the current religious movements and practices in the United States. He is associate professor of philosophy and theology at Northeastern Bible College in Essex Fells, New Jersey and serves as the chairman of the Department of Biblical Education.
In addition to his formal training at Northeastern Bible College, New York Theological Seminary, and New York University, he has spent sixteen years in the area of religious research. A recognized scholar in the area of current religious movements, trends, and practices, Professor Bjornstad has lectured extensively in colleges, universities, seminaries, and graduate schools, as well as in churches and conferences throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. He is the author of numerous articles for newspapers, magazines, and journals and has written several books, including Stars, Signs and Salvation in the Age of Aquarius, The Transcendental Mirage, The Moon is Not the Son, and Counterfeits at Your Door.
