Dr. Donald A. Carson is a research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Before joining the Trinity faculty in 1978, Dr. Carson served as academic dean at Northwest Baptist Theological Seminary and taught at Northwest Baptist Theological College, Richmond College, and Central Baptist Seminary. He has experience as a pastor and assistant pastor, and has done itinerant ministry in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Dr. Carson earned a bachelor of science in chemistry from McGill University, a master of divinity from Central Baptist Seminary, and a doctor of philosophy in New Testament from Cambridge University. His areas of expertise include biblical theology, the historical Jesus, pluralism, Greek grammar, Johannine theology, Pauline theology, and questions of suffering and evil.

Dr. Carson is a prolific writer with more than a dozen published works. He and his wife, Joy, have two children and reside in Libertyville, Illinois.
