Dr. William E. Brown currently serves as president-elect of Cedarville University. He served as professor of Biblical studies at Bryan College for five years before being chosen as academic vice president and provost in 1988. He was twice chosen "Teacher of the Year" at Bryan College. In 1992 he was selected to be Bryan College's sixth president and in 2002, he was elected president of Cedarville University. He will assume office as president June 1, 2003.
Dr. Brown has written over one hundred articles for journals, magazines, newspapers and encyclopedias. He is the author of Making Sense of Your Faith (Victor Books), Where Have All the Dreamers Gone?, and Making Sense of Your World (with Gary Phillips, Moody Press, Sheffield Press), a book used by many colleges and universities as an introductory text to worldview/philosophical thinking.
His writings have appeared in many national newspapers and magazines, including Readers Digest and Christianity Today. He has been a regular columnist for the national magazine World. He also serves as an editor for philosophy textbooks and ethics curriculum.
Dr. Brown speaks frequently in educational, professional and church conferences. He taught high school and college students for several months in Eastern Europe. He lectures regularly to public school teachers and officials in the former Soviet Union as well as those in South America and Europe.
