Comments

The objective of this research was to study the use of polycrystal plasticity models in finite element codes for the modeling of materials during bulk deformation. The purpose of the EPSCoR-REA program is to help researchers in traditionally underfunded states, obtain federal funding by sponsoring work with nationally recognized researchers. The majority of the work completed under this grant was performed at Cornell University in the summer of 1993 and the winter of 1994. This work resulted in the development of finite element code for the modeling of polycrystal materials, the presentation of a paper in Japan, and the submission of three proposals to the National Science Foundation, two of which have been approved for funding.
