“But most of all, John Ronald loved dragons.” From that sentence stems an endearing little book about the life of esteemed author J.R.R. Tolkien and his journey of creating The Hobbit. For years, J.R.R. Tolkien has enchanted countless numbers of people with his tales of hobbits, dragons, and treasure. Caroline McAlister succeeds in giving a younger audience some of the history behind the infamous author and story. The storyline delightfully weaves together the true life of Tolkien and his fanciful imaginings of a hobbit world, and Eliza Wheeler does a fabulous job of illustrating the story in a whimsical and charming fashion.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
