The Mermaid is an underwater retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Kiniro is a young princess mermaid who discovers an octopus family’s house with her friend Puffy. The illustrations are creative and colorful. The intended audience is young children. Young girls might especially like this version of the popular story. Parents may use this story to advise their children not to go into strangers’ houses. Recommended. Lydia Jacobsen, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
