Silos, Snow Cones, Railroad Spikes, and Spherical Coordinates
We present a fun alternative geometric approach for computing the volume of a “box” in spherical coordinates, which we then use to explain the formula for spherical triple integrals. Each step of our approach works well as an interactive classroom exercise.
