Contributor's Note
My family has experience with several summer camps that put on events over the winter involving horses. This was partially what gave me the idea to write a story involving a resort park with horses. The story is about a little boy who learns to cope with loss over the holiday season by befriending a horse. It is written from the boy's perspective, as if he's writing a new entry in his journal every day. One theme is that even when it's hard to think about people we miss, it's still good for us to remember them.
