About the Author

I am a Cedarville student ('22) with a passion for serving others through writing and education. I chose Special Education, in particular, because of my lifelong experience with disability. As a child, I sustained a permanent brain injury due to a near-drowning experience. Ever since then, I have spoken with a moderate stutter. This personal story is what inspired my informative essay. Through this work, I hope to spread awareness for stuttering and encourage open conversations about communication differences of all kinds.
