Nadine is a cow who lives on a farm near a forest. After she pretends to be fearful of nothing, Nadine’s friends challenge her to explore the woods with them. The trio accidentally splits up during their experience and, from time to time, all of them experience both enjoyment and fear. Finally, they find each other and the reunited group finds their way home. This story’s illustrations are helpful for interpretation and also entertaining, but the narrative contains occasional gaps in time which may be confusing to some readers. Its message about safety and traveling alone will prove useful for teaching younger children. Recommended. Austin Becton, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
