In this Elephant and Piggie book, Mo Willems weaves a fantastic simple story around slop. Piggie meets Gerald the elephant walking along. When Gerald catches a whiff of Piggie’s slop he cringes. Piggie tells him how much he likes slop, and ask Gerald to try it. Gerald at first refuses, but reluctantly tries a tiny bite. Once the tiny morsel touches the tip of Gerald’s tongue he quickly learns that slop is not his favorite. The story is simple, but fun to read with the banter between Piggie and Gerald. Keep your eyes out for Willems’ famous bird. This books is highly recommended for any age even adults.
Highly Recommended. Jordan Oldham, Cedarville University, Centennial Library Intern
