Review
“Fall is time for school!” This chant is repeated throughout Neubecker’s work, and by the time the reader reaches the end, they are thoroughly convinced of just that. The storyline of a little sister convincing her big brother of the advantages of school is a charming tale. Neubecker illustrates his story with care, and his drawings are wondrously fanciful. He also takes care to rhyme throughout, so the book has a rather sing-songy feel in the conversation between brother and sister. Educators will find this book a fun read in general, but it is also a convincing book to show to students who are a bit apprehensive about beginning school again. Neubecker does an amazing job of introducing his audience to the wonderful world of knowledge that can be obtained through education.
