Saturdays are treasured by Ava and her mother, who works full time. One Saturday, their plans for a splendid day are thwarted by a long series of mishaps. Through their disappointment, mother and daughter are reminded that Saturdays are special not because of planned activities, but because they are spent together. Vibrantly illustrated in a collage-like style, Saturday communicates a valuable lesson to children that will help them make the best of any situation. The book could even be a heartening reminder to parents and caregivers that quality time with a child is of far greater value than any activity they could offer. Highly Recommended Jacy Stahlhut, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
