Review
“Nakupenda”, “Ik hou van jou”, and “Ti voglio bene” are all simply other cultures’ ways of expressing the phrase “I love you.” This delightful book describes six different languages’ ways of saying “I love you”. The pop-up pictures are complex and informative about the culture in which the language is spoken. A helpful tool is the easy-to-use pronunciation guide beneath each foreign language phrase. The intended audience is grades five or under, but this book could be used as an introduction to foreign languages or cultures at older ages as well. In the classroom, this book would be an engaging and simple way to teach younger children foreign language phrases and introduce them to the greater world around them. Recommended.
