Clara and Mimi are two cats that are as different as can be. Mimi loves reading. She spends her days inside her house reading up on how to grow a huge pumpkin to win a first-place ribbon at the Great Pumpkin Contest. Clara loves to be outside. She spends her days basking in the sun having tea parties with her friends. However, she also wants to win the Great Pumpkin Contest. The two cats plant their pumpkin seeds and wait to see their pumpkins grow. With all of Mimi’s reading and planning, her pumpkin grows and grows and grows until she can’t carry it to the fair anymore. What will Mimi do? Who will win the ribbon? And is winning even the most important part of this story? A sweet and delightful book that reinforces the importance of friendship, kindness, and teamwork. Recommended Katie Korwan, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio.
