Based on a true story, The Christmas Mitzvah is about Al Rosen, a Jewish man, who helps his community by covering their jobs on their holidays so they could go be with their families. He sweeps stables, sells newspapers, bags groceries, and more. Though the lines are sometimes difficult to understand, it is a beautiful story about a diverse community coming together in kindness. The colors are bold, and many different cultures are represented in the illustrations. This would be a good book for teachers to read to their students around any holiday. Recommended Morgan Rupp, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
