Children who always have food on their minds will relate to the little girl in this book—she loves kimchi so much that she eats it every day! A pet rabbit accompanies her through the week as she eats various dishes containing the traditional Korean food, and a glossary in the back gives more information on her favorite food. The variety in kimchi shown breaks down stereotypes, presenting a multifaceted dish and cultural custom. Perfect for children in lower elementary school, this story shows a love for food and one’s own heritage, and even teaches the days of the week. Best read directly before a meal. Optional Justin Kemp, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
