Armadillo Antics tells the story of a young armadillo’s nighttime adventures as it plays and escapes dangers lurking in the dark. Written in rhyme, the story is pleasing to the ear but easy for little ones to understand. It lends itself well to being read aloud, and the fun facts about armadillos on the final page mean that it would be an excellent book for a young student to use for a science report on armadillos. It also has beautiful illustrations by Nathalie Beauvois, drawn in a style reminiscent of Eric Carle, that children are sure to love. Armadillo Antics fits in well with the preschool and kindergarten-level reads. Still, older students might get a kick out of it. Recommended. Alexis Chandler, Centennial Library Intern.
