Amelia Bedelia and her class are going to learn about elections, but after having a run in with the principal, Amelia Bedelia and the class get to vote on a real issue. After the votes come in everyone is excited about having Homework-Free Wednesdays! In this story Amelia learns about the basics of voting, including voting ties, runoffs, and absentee ballots. The colorful pictures and word play used in the text make this a characteristically funny Amelia Bedelia story and is a great way to introduce the concept of voting to kids. Recommended.
