Some people start their days as the sun sets. Firefighters, nurses, dispatchers, janitors are awake during a Night in the City. They drink coffee at midnight and help people while it’s still dark out. Then their days end when ours start. In Night in the City, strangers’ paths cross in beautiful harmony. Some have large families, and some have cats, but we all have our routines. Night in the City is beautifully illustrated and visually unique, demonstrating the diverse kinds of people, families, and careers that are awake when you might be asleep. This would make a wonderful addition to home library collections as the perfect bedtime story book for kids in preschool through third grade. Recommended. Jordan Davis, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University.
