Review
Is Your Buffalo Ready for Kindergarten? follows a buffalo’s journey through kindergarten. The reader is told of the experiences their buffalo will have in kindergarten, and how to reassure their buffalo if he gets anxious about kindergarten. The illustrations are fantastic – drawn and smudged in such a way as to look like crayon outlines filled in with smoother colors. The story is wonderful, providing a gentle, silly introduction to the world of kindergarten for any anxious children. Its usefulness might be limited to Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten only, as the themes apply directly to their age demographic. Still, Is Your Buffalo Ready for Kindergarten? is a valuable resource for parents and teachers to introduce the concept and practices of kindergarten. Recommended. Stacie Schmidt, Centennial Library Intern.
