When Turtle’s father reads him a bedtime story about penguins, Turtle decides to be a penguin the next day. At school, all the children pretend to be penguins and learn a lot from their teacher about penguins. The story ends with Turtle’s father reading him a story about monkeys permitting the reader to imagine the same thing happening the following days with monkeys. Teachers can use this book as a story to supplement learning about penguins. The story is sweet and imaginative. Little Turtle is a very engaging character for children to read about. Recommended.
