Student Teacher Steps Up During Tragic Loss

Abstract

Winter Fraley, a junior special education major from Cleveland, Ohio, served as a teacher candidate in a second grade classroom in 2021, gaining field experience she hoped would prepare her for a teaching career. Her job became more challenging than she anticipated when the teacher she was supposed to shadow unexpectedly died of COVID-19.
