Abstract
Part of an ongoing continuing education program of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and Drug Topics examines gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and its treatment. The pathophysiology of GERD, the potential complications of GERD, the pharmacology of the agents used to treat GERD, and a rational basis for the stepwise treatment of GERD are discussed.
