This fragment from Dead Sea scrolls, 4Q4, contains 11 lines of text from Genesis 1:18-27. It begins with the conclusion of the 4th day of creation (separation of light from darkness) and ends with the creation of man on the 6th day. Some 20 fragments of the book of Genesis were discovered among the Dead Sea scrolls. This fragment dates to the middle of the 1st century AD and was written with black ink on a thin layer of reddish-brown parchment.
