Ila Myrtle Ramsey Buck Collection

Ila Myrtle Ramsey Buck graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Cedarville College in 1912 and with a Master of Arts in 1913. She took part in theatrical productions, organizations, and societies, including The Philadelphian Society. Ramsey’s wittiness, humor, and literary understanding are evident in her prose, speeches, and photo captions. Letters of Recommendation from Cedarville Faculty speak highly of her character, student experience, and potential as a teacher. She married Charles Buck in 1916 and later had several children. She maintained communication with close friends overseas. Letters from Ray and Wilhelmina Lanning and their sons, John and David, share their experience under Japanese control in China during the late 1930s. Ila Myrtle Ramsey Buck passed away in 1978 after a life of teaching and giving to the community.

The Ramsey collection contains diplomas, certifications, commencement invitations and speeches, various prose and letters, photos, and personal items.
