This copy of Erasmus’ Colloguies, first published in 1518, was printed in Amsterdam in 1643. These 63 dialogues which Erasmus first wrote for his students as examples of discourse were eventually revised into a series of meditations on the significant topics of the day. Some have said that these dialogues were so profound that it is not a stretch to say that they helped to speed the Reformation. This edition was rebound in the 18th century with burgundy morocco leather.
