Description

The Christian Harmony: In the Seven-Syllable Character Note System of Music was compiled by William Walker (1809-1875) in 1866. For The Christian Harmony, Walker changed from the four-shape system he had used in his earlier Southern Harmony (1835) to a seven-shape system, adding three shapes of his own design to the original four shapes used in Southern Harmony. Cedarville University's original copy of The Christian Harmony was printed in Philadelphia by Miller's Bible and Publishing House in 1873.
