Harold Strobridge Cedarville Collection

Harold Strobridge was born in Cedarville, Ohio, in 1918. He spent his entire life in Cedarville, running his own auto body shop and teaching at the Greene County Career Center for 15 years. The genesis of his local history collection began in 1956 when a local couple asked if they could leave to him their papers, pictures, and books containing local history. They wanted to leave the materials to someone who would continue collecting and sharing the history of Cedarville, Ohio. His collection grew to occupy the second story of the barn at his home, arranged as a museum for visitors. After Strobridge's death in 1998, the collection was dismantled under the direction of his widow and transferred in 2000 to the Cedarville University Archives to hold in trust for the Cedarville Opera House Society. In 2019, the collection was permanently transferred to the Cedarville University Archives.
