This award recognizes sustained excellence in the scholarship and classroom teaching of the integration of Scripture and Christian world-life view with the intellectual content for a discipline or the practical application of that content. Recipients are selected by a committee comprised of seven faculty members known for biblical integration expertise and chaired by the Academic Vice President. This award is named in honor of Dr. Allen Monroe, Professor Emeritus of Social Sciences. Dr. Monroe was an early leader and recognized expert by his peers in Cedarville’s emphasis on integration of Scripture and knowledge in every discipline. He had a key role in the Integration of Scripture in Knowledge Task Team and developed a comprehensive bibliography on ISK which is still included in faculty development instruction for our current faculty. He also modeled biblical integration in the classes he taught.
