This comical story depicts a fox who catches a duck. The duck brings his best acting and persuasion skills to the table as he chews on socks, barks, and licks the fox’s face, pretending to be a dog for the sake of not being eaten. The fox is convinced and ends up letting the duck go, only to realize the truth later when he finds an egg in his house. This fast-paced story holds the reader’s attention and is reminiscent of an Aesop fable. The comic-style illustrations are very engaging and fit the overall tone of the book. Optional. Taylor Wilcox, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
