Lincoln Clears a Path: Abraham Lincoln’s Agricultural Legacy is a biography of our 16th president and his efforts to promote agriculture. It recounts his youth in Indiana, the wide variety of jobs he took on, his path to the presidency, and his actions during the Civil War. While the topic of agriculture is present, it is not the main subject of the book. There are several quotes from Lincoln that are set in such a way that it is difficult to read. The colors chosen for the illustrations throughout are rather muted and depressing for a children’s book. Overall, this would be great for young students’ research projects or for teachers during a history lesson. Additional Purchase Morgan Rupp, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
