Review
This heartwarming picture book illustrates how love is expressed not only through spoken words but also through everyday actions. As a small girl thinks back on her large family, she observes how her late grandfather showed love through the flowers he planted, her mother shares the finest part of the fish, and her great-grandmother sends her favorite fruit. Readers are encouraged to calm down and appreciate the simple, yet meaningful actions portrayed in the story's calming and poetic tone. The illustrator creates delicate, intricate, and culturally rich pictures that vividly depict family gatherings, gardens, and customs. Children can learn to recognize the acts of kindness in their own families and to value cultural customs by using the book's themes of family, cultural legacy, and remembrance. The book is a heartfelt celebration of love that goes beyond words. Highly Recommended Merry Moon Hkawn, Centennial Library Intern, Cedarville University
