Knight Owl and Early Bird
Denise, Christopher

Knight Owl is proud of his work on the night watch, but when Early Bird arrives and wants to be just like him, Knight Owl finds himself frustrated with her antics and disruption of his schedule. It is only after Early Bird saves his life that Knight Owl acknowledges that she might have what it takes to be a knight. Just maybe not a night knight. This story carries a strong theme that differences can be acknowledged, and individuals can work together despite those differences. Both Kight Owl and Early Bird experience character growth as Kight Owl learns to be friends with Early Bird, and Early Bird learns that she doesn’t need to be exactly like Knight Owl.
