Effects of Image Valence and Arousal on Emotional Memory

Abstract

This study investigated the effects of image valence on memory encoding. It was hypothesized that negative images would have the highest scores on a recognition test, but this was disconfirmed. A ceiling effect was observed across all conditions, and valence and arousal level were significantly correlated for each group.
