Podium Presentation

Proposal

There is an alarming rate of soldiers who survive combat in the war overseas only to come home and struggle with the war in their mind, which is otherwise known as severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These combat veterans experience intense thoughts and feelings in relation to their experience that persist involuntarily even amidst the safety of their United States home. After a thorough research of available academic literature reviews, we will present the answers to our exploration of the presence of PTSD in combat veterans. Throughout this presentation we will bring attention to the rates of soldiers affected with post-traumatic stress who commit suicide as a result. It is also important to highlight the resources available to these men and women that will provide another alternative they are more than entitled to deserve.
